Conference Task Force Volunteer Openings
The Conferences Task Force is researching and proposing sustainable ways to implement an annual Young Adult Continental Spiritual retreat. The Conference Task Force is composed of at least 5 members, 3 of whom were selected by the attendees at last year’s Pre-GA meeting. The task force is looking to add at least two members to help to further its work.
From last year’s statement: The annual young adult continental spiritual retreat should seek to be financially independent, sustainable for volunteer leaders’ energies, and accessible, utilizing a series of consistent sites around the US and/or Canada. The Conference Task Force will be responsible for reaching out to ally organizations to decide whom best to be in relationship with to institutionalize a consistent and sustainable annual retreat.
This position is for a minimum one year term, which may be extended depending on the task force findings and recommendations.
Task Force Member Responsibilities include:
- being present on bi-monthly conference calls
- research of UU camp and conference sites around the continent
- communication with the C*UUYAN body and C*UUYAN leadership
- communication with CYF
- communication with the YACM office
Skills Required
- possess the ability to work independently
- task oriented
- excellent communication skills
- good commitment and follow through
- good organizational skills
- experience with young adult conference planning (or comparable conferences)
- have an interest in exploring the vision for future continental conferences
- must work well with others
